COMPANY HISTORY

Even today, the T logo encircled by an arrow can still be found on most Czech elevators, conveyors, and escalators. This logo belonged to TRANSPORTA, a company with a history dating back to 1856, founded by the South Bohemian locksmith František Wiesner.

With its branch plants, Transporta held a monopoly position in the former Czechoslovakia (ČSSR) as the sole manufacturer of passenger elevators, high-speed elevators, and escalators. A significant part of its production was dedicated to long-distance belt conveyors, primarily for mines and coal-fired power plants. The company also produced weighing systems, forgings, castings, machined components, models, tools, and much more. Additionally, construction and material handling equipment, including forklifts, played a crucial role in its production portfolio.

Almost every apartment building in Czechoslovakia was equipped with Transporta elevators, and its escalators were installed in department stores and the Prague metro from its launch until the 1990s. Transporta also supplied a wide range of transportation systems, including cableways for passengers and cargo. Among the most famous cable cars and chairlifts are those operating on Lomnický štít, Ještěd, and Sněžka.

In 2016, TRANSPORTA Technology s.r.o. was founded, acquiring all rights to the TRANSPORTA trademark. This company provides comprehensive services, from feasibility studies to commissioning and subsequent maintenance of delivered technologies. We offer system solutions for the energy, chemical, mining, and manufacturing industries, either as turnkey projects or as partial deliveries of our own products.

Among our key technical solutions are bulk material handling and storage systems. We provide a wide range of conveyors, including hoppers and large storage facilities. For biomass handling, we offer belt, chain, and screw conveyors, along with crushing equipment, storage silos with activators, weighing and dosing systems, and other material handling components. For ash removal and transport, we supply cooling, crushing, mixing, storage, and dispatching systems, including silo storage solutions.

In 2023, TRANSPORTA expanded its capabilities by acquiring the steel structure and machining production previously operating under KLEMENT a.s. since 1996. This facility was integrated into the TRANSPORTA group under the name TRANSPORTA W-O-R-K-S s.r.o., ensuring in-house manufacturing for joint projects as well as custom production for end customers.

Both companies are headquartered in Hliňany, complementing each other to provide integrated solutions under one roof. Our team consists of experts across various fields, allowing us to design, calculate, draw, manufacture, install, commission, maintain, and service equipment. This capability enables us to offer effective support, particularly during critical production situations, shutdown maintenance, and reverse engineering. We can even provide solutions for equipment no longer supported by its original manufacturer.
